Keeping it clean 9 Replies

I finally got a small chance to play my flute this week.  When I opened my case , I noticed the flute seemed extra tarnished. I had cleaned it not too long ago, and thought I had done a good job of…Continue

I'll send you the model numbers, but I have to dig them out. It's a Spotmatic of course, and I bought a couple bodies and some lenses in the early 70s when I was in Japan. Thanks again for yer help.

I got it, thats the problem they only sold them in Japan. I'll hit you with the info tonight, it will be better to stop in the store; it is around the corner from where I work and I like going in there now I have an excuse lol!

I'll still stop in as long as this guy does not have me shoot some things before work, he is a painful client he is never there but does pay, moody too (metal sculptor)! This is genuine Pentax and this is a very reputable business.

There's no hurry; I haven't taken a photo in a long, long time.

Hello Dick, yes the adapter will work but you'll be like me with my old lenes, you can only use them in full manual mode. Now this is not a horrible thing as you can see instantly on the LCD screen on the back close to what you shot and make changes fast. The big thing with digital is affordability, once the camera is paid for it's free as long as you look at the pictures on a computer, and it you do go to a Kodak kiask at say a Walgreens drug store you only pick and pay for what you want. Unless your going to learn Photoshop or other similar software which takes a year or more (especially Photoshop, very complex when people say Oh they just do it on a computer they don't know really what they're talking about, its much harder than a darkroom) I would look for a great deal on something with a zoom lens on it, most of them come like that. You only need a camera with raw files for Photoshop, stuff like Google Picaso is enough for the majority. BTW, these newer lenses have a bunch of electronics in them so they are pricey, I had one go bad and gave up when I saw in the schematic over 400 parts. Off to the country, going to the cheese factory see you later.

Dawned on me to say why I said get a new one, that magic thing they have now called "autofocus", magical!

If I used an adaptor, could I get my flute to attach to a camera? would I then be able to take Note-worthy pictures ? :-)

Nice one Cin!

Hey, Joe, I've been thinking about the adaptor, but is seems like a lot of trouble. For one thing it changes the focal length of the lenses. Maybe it would be better to just find a place to buy good film and use that. But that brings up yet another problem. When I was trying to get back into photography before, I couldn't find a battery for my camera, and no one knew of an alternate. I suppose I could buy a light meter, but that pretty old hat, I think. I dunno.
