i love all music and love the variety i am learning to play on the flute...one of my loves is playing some of the christian music such as jesus be my centre, in christ alone, there is a day and also some of the gospel music swing and jazz style such as his eye is on the sparrow. please feel free to ask for music or indeed share your music with others as i find it hard to find the music.

welcome to tiffany who joined the group...i understand you are in your church orchestra let us know how you are getting on with that ....feel free to share ...videos ...testimony and music tips etc....i have still to learn to transpose and am working on playing freely in worship and not just stick to the notes on paper...i am loving the gospel swing kind of music at the moment really stretching me ...also the slower hymn such as how great thou art and in christ alone...we bow down etc loving using my instrument to praise God ...just got to work with the team more i think...i can change octave like mark does but to change key is different...God bless you all!

I played clarinet in High School, picked up the sax before I went to Berklee College of Music (a long time ago). That's where I started playing flute. I played 4 years in an Air Force Band (full time job as a musician!!!!). I was lead clarinet in the concert band, but played various (2nd alto, 2nd tenor, and bari) at different times in the jazz band where needed. I took jazz rides on Flute and did some big band arranging with a flute part so I could play it a bit.
After years of neglect (I got a real job after the band, and just retired) I have been practicing the flute everyday since January (have kept my ability on clarinet and sax). Now I think I play flute better than ever, and use it with our worship team at church (also clarinet, rarely sax). I realize that I am a bit of an amateur on flute, maybe about the level of a high school student. Because of my other background, my musicianship exceeds my flute technical ability ... but I am working on it.

Thank you all for your help. Currently I am using the CD from Jesusculture and worshiping with the flute. I do not use the sheet music, I only know the key the song is in and then improvise my way through the CD. At first I sounded silly, then I started to "catch it" and my sound started getting better. At least that is what my 12 year old son said. Any help and all help in worshiping God on the flute is welcomed. :)
