Okay ... If anyone is interested I will put some exercises here from time to time.

Here's a pattern for the day. Not too high, just up to F, and in the key of C. If you want a challenge, try to use this pattern in other keys. But just for fun, get your fingers moving and try both tonguing and slurring as fast as you can.

Okay, I haven't practiced or measured my articulation lately. Here's a bit of music, a flute part from the 1st movement of the 2nd Brandenburg Concerto by JS Bach. Articulate the whole three lines. Use a metronome and start speeding it up. It is alright to use the thumb Bb. Coordinating even this simple scale-like piece between finger and tongue starts getting interesting at about 100 beats per minute. Try this for a week and see how fast you can get. On the last line, start the trill with an F grace note which starts on the up beat (it starts on the half note time, not before it, since it is Baroque).

hey, thanks so much ...do post more of these.

Here's one I wrote for practicing the chromatic scale through the full range of the instrument.

thanks so much excellent piece to practise. I am playing this now.

Yay! Glad you are enjoying it.

I'll post the whole tone study some time next week. These studies are designed to go along with the Moyse exercises.

Love it! I have to work on this, it is fun and useful,

Any more to follow?? These are great!!

Here is a five page .pdf file of major chord exercises.  It goes through all 12 keys.  If it is too much, at least learn it in the first key of C.
