I'm basically in the same boat as you,

My flute professor has suggested I look at Muramatsu or Powell flutes. The Powell flutes tend to be a bit more expensive depending on certain specs. But both will be equal in quality and you will have to determine which one you prefer by actually playing them.

I played a Muramatsu flute once and I like it very much, but I've never tried a Powell, I'll do it!
