And I'm wondering how long it will be before I can play again. Today is my second day with the teeth out and I'm still really swollen and still in a lot of pain. I want to play again soon but I doubt it will be anytime soon. Anyone who has had this surgery done, do you know how long it will probably take to comfortably play again?

A good solid ten days if they used stitches. If no stitches, then until your sockets are absolutely healed. I so hope they used stitches to close you. I had the stitches, and actually played about three days after surgery, but it was against the advice of my oral surgeon. And I did pay dearly in pain afterwards -- a solid day of thumping pain. I waited after that until the stitches came out and was given the go ahead because everything had healed tightly.

I'm so sorry to hear of your suffering. Ice is your friend is my only advice.

agree, when I got my wisdom teeth out it was about a week and a half before I could play again. Ice is good, ice cream is better ;-)

Thanks for the advice. I picked up my flute today (9 days after) and discovered that I am slow healer. I couldn't play for longer than about 20 min. Hopefully, if I keep doing at least 20 min everyday, I'll eventually pick it back up to my normal sessions. :)
