It will be a pleasure to help you, if I can :)

What would like to know about the flute that I may beable to help you with?

I have been playing for a little over 13 years.

Hi, I'm Lisa Patridge. I have studied flute and piccolo in high school and college and have been an active amateur player for many years. I currently play in a community band and few small ensembles. I own the web business FluteMonkey.com. I'm looking forward to connecting with the greater amateur flute community at FlutistConnect

.

Hellohello! I'm Lena and I've been playing the flute since September of 2011.

I started off in Concert Band of middle school, and since then I've switched schools and was rightfully placed in Beginner Band (though I play at a concert band level at this point)

I absolutely love my instrument, and it was definitely my first choice. I'd really enjoy learning the Piccolo at some point, but for now I should settle on mastering the flute.

The flute is my first real instrument, but I've dabbled on the keyboard and the guitar. I'm also a singer.

Hi Folks

Im Alec.  I live in Carnoustie, Scotland.

Im 42.

I have been playing guitar for years.  Just for my enjoyment.  Not in bands.

Ive always been intrigued by Flutes.  And have bought one from ebay.  Its in the post office up the road, just now.  As I was out this afternoon when they tried to deliver it.  So I 'll get it tommorow, when there open.

I can sight read a bit.  I am mostly keen on 80s rock and pop music.  Tho I do like some classical music.

I hope this site can help me in learning the flute

Alec

Welcome Alec. We have another member on flutist connect who lives in Scotland..Simon Peters. Check out his page, I have o idea if you are anywhere near one another, but wouldn't it be fun you are? Welcome to the world of flutists, and I hope you can explore the instrument successfully. Another really good website is Jennifercluff.com

I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Hi Alec, welcome to Flutist Connect.

I live near Kirkcaldy, which isn't that far from Carnoustie (about an hours drive Janet).

Unless you have a teacher, I'd recommend a 'teach yourself flute' book. Sight reading is all very well, but knowing a dot on that line is a C (or whatever), is no good to you if you don't know the fingering to play a C on a flute. I'm using Essential Elements 2000, Book 1, Flute which seems pretty good on the whole. I haven't used any other book, so can't compare.

Hi I'm Warren. Loved flute so much , I play piccolo too.

Hello! I'm Laurence Andrew Catanzaro. I school in Iloilo National High school-School for The Arts. I'm in 2nd Year.

I've been playing flute since 12 years old.

Hi Everyone

I'm Kitti and I recently started playing the flute again after 12 years of quitting (and regretted it) so I'm really happy that I can still remember most of the fingering and have fallen back in love with playing the flute. :) I love doing duets or accompanied solos. I completed grade 6 in the UK but quit after learning I had to do theory exams in order to progress further which took the fun out playing.... Anyways after 8 weeks of lessons, my teacher has entered me in a music competition/festival at the Eisteddfod 2013 in Bunbury, Western Australia so I'm very excited and nervous at the same time as it's been ages since I performed in public!Eeek! I'm hoping to meet like-minded flautists and share tips, and inspire eachother, etc.... Look forward to hearing from you.   :)
